Description
The Guide has many flexible features to support the RPL process including access to multiple users, a personalised welcome screen and flexible entry and exit for work over multiple sessions. Users can save their RPL data to a CD or disk or email it as a document to their assessor.
Multiple users can access the Guide. Each user on first entering the Guide will be asked to enter their name and then every time they use the Guide, it will recognise who they are. On return visits, their data will be loaded into the Guide for further use.
Users will be prompted to save their RPL evidence in their own folder which can be stored on a disk, hard drive or on your server. This means that they can work through the RPL process at their own pace or when they have time during the work day.
Easy access templates
The Guide provides a number of templates which have been designed as easy access sliding screens designed to record RPL evidence. These include a Checklist of performance criteria, a 'Portfolio Planner', a 'Summary Sheet' and a 'Learning Plan'. The Guide automates the process of recording data across these screens at once. Users initially work through a checklist of performance criteria, and data entered here automatically populates the other screens. They can also slide these other screens in and out for easy access.
For example, if a user working through their checklist clicks 'yes' they can provide evidence that they have competency in a particular area, they can then slide out the 'Portfolio Planner' and note down the evidence type they are going to submit for evidence.
If you choose to integrate the Guide with the TAA Toolbox it will develop an individual learning plan which points to just the parts of the Toolbox which the user needs to complete.
It is the responsibility of an RTO to provide a suitable recognition of prior learning process, and it must be used with the guidance of an accredited TAA assessor. However, the Guide is a flexible and portable tool that can be used to support this process.
