Description
Welcome to the world of virtual furniture design where you will interact with dynamic simulations to create production drawings and use CNC machinery. This innovative Toolbox provides learners with opportunities to develop key skills in designing and producing furniture to meet client needs.
In this Toolbox the learner takes on the role of the newest employee at ‘Modern Edge Furniture’ a fictitious furniture manufacturer. On entering the Toolbox the learner is presented with two areas of the business; the Drawing Room and the Machine Workshop.
Two units of competency are covered with each being delivered in different areas of the business. The Drawing Room covers the competency Produce manual and computer-aided production drawings and the Machine Workshop covers Set up, operate and maintain CNC machining and process centres.
Resources include ‘Tools & Machinery’, ‘Techniques’, ‘Ask an Expert’ and the ‘Safety Manual’.
