Description
This Toolbox comprises tasks, activities, scenarios and content which covers the underpinning knowledge and skills of various competencies. Specific content areas include: Infection risks, personal hygiene, personal protective clothing and equipment used by health care workers, standard and additional procedures, cleaning and disinfecting equipment, cleaning the environment, dealing with blood and other body fluids, food handling, linen management, managing waste, safe handling of sharps, storage and handling of sterile stock, the regulatory framework governing infection control and sterilising.
The Infection Control (Health) Toolbox contains a range of resources designed to assist in the flexible delivery of the competency standards covered. Flexible delivery may incorporate a variety of methods, including web-based learning, distance education, face-to-face classes or group work.
