Description
The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA) Toolbox has been developed
for the Certificate IV qualification, which was endorsed in October 2004 as
part of the Training and Assessment Training Package.
The 13 units (12 core and 1 elective) are arranged into four streams; Learning
Design, Delivery and Facilitation, Learning Environment
and Assessment. These align with the unit codes and focus areas
within the new Certificate IV qualification. Each unit contains one or more
"projects"
for the learner to complete, facilitating the process of evidence gathering
towards a demonstration of competency. A user-friendly Skills Recognition
option has also been developed, and learners have the option to negotiate
a workplace-based assessment task to replace the project offered in the
Toolbox, increasing the flexible delivery options available to the RTO.
A comprehensive
Teachers' Guide offers trainers and assessors information and guidance
to support their delivery of the competencies.
The learning design of this Toolbox places the learner as a trainer/assessor
for Optimal Learning Solutions (OLS), a fictitious RTO providing training
and assessment services to a range of government, private and industry organisations.
A detailed profile of OLS, their clients and the learner's role is provided,
and an interactive tour of the Toolbox to assist with orientation is also
available. Through interacting with the staff and clients of OLS and investigating
a range of resources, learning activities and information available, learners
can enjoy a stimulating, challenging and engaging level of activity as they
complete the tasks required in each project.
The Training and Assessment RPL Guide
The Training and Assessment RPL Guide is designed to complement the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (607) Toolbox. A great tool for training organisation involved in Training and Assessment delivery with staff that need to upgrade to the new Training and Assessment qualification.
