Description

The 'On Your Guard' Toolbox features the Certificate II in Security Operations (PRS20103) from the Asset Security Training Package (PRS03). The Certificate II in Security Operations qualification is the entry level that meets the national licensing requirements in the guarding industry, and this Toolbox covers 21 units of the Certificate II course. The only unit not covered is First Aid where separate certification is required.

As security guards can progress on career paths that cover investigative services, Control Room operations or technical security, these options are supported in the Training Package and catered for in the 'On Your Guard' Toolbox. The 'On Your Guard' Toolbox will therefore provide a strong foundation for further study in this area and could also be used to support online delivery of other qualifications in the Asset Security Training Package.

Learners with literacy and numeracy problems will be catered for by the optional literacy and numeracy exercises that are built into the course.

Learners working through the course are involved in problem-based active learning and presented with scenarios, situations and characters that reflect the social and cultural diversity present in contemporary Australian cities.
