Description
This new TAE Toolbox brings together the previous TAA and TAA eLearning Toolbox resources, and has been fully updated to align with the new TAE Training Package. The new TAE Toolbox provides content, resources, activities and tasks aligned with ten units from the TAE Training Package, and can be used to support delivery of the seven core units in the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) as well as providing options for elective units from the Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (TAE50111) qualification.
The ten units in the TAE Toolbox are arranged into three streams; Learning Design, Delivery and Facilitation, and Assessment. These three streams align with the unit codes and focus areas within the new TAE qualifications, and facilitate targeted delivery to suit learner needs. Each unit contains a structured task for the learner to complete, facilitating the process of evidence gathering towards a demonstration of competency.
In order to provide a realistic workplace-based setting for learning, the design of this Toolbox places the learner as a trainer/assessor for Optimal Learning Solutions (OLS), a fictitious RTO providing training and assessment services to a range of government, private and industry organisations. Through interacting with the staff and clients of OLS and investigating a range of resources, learning activities and information available, learners can enjoy a stimulating, challenging and engaging level of activity as they complete the tasks required in each project.
A user-friendly Skills Recognition option has also been provided within the Toolbox, and learners have the option to negotiate a workplace-based assessment task in place of the project for each unit, increasing the flexible delivery options available to the RTO. A comprehensive Teachers' Guide offers trainers and assessors information and guidance to assist with using the Toolbox and to support delivery of the competencies.
