What types of learning resources are available?

The learning resources for each scenario are arranged in a similar way as to how you would access information in the workplace.

Ask a specialist

You can seek information from specialist personnel such as the Senior Instructor or a Medical Personnel. Ask a question when you want to get the overall view of a situation and its importance in the scenario.

The bookshelf

You can also read specific articles that are relevant to the scenario in the bookshelf. These provide detailed information on some aspects of the situation presented in the scenario.

The filing cabinet

In the filing cabinet you will find examples of real workplace documents. These include procedures, protocols and forms. Use these if you want specific instructions on how to do something .

Using the learning resources

When should I use the learning resources in a scenario?

The learning resource should be used as you work through the scenario.

Look through the resources first.

You may like to have a look through all of the resources before you start the scenario. This will give you an idea of what you will need to know as you work through the scenario .

Use the resources before you make a choice.

Before you make a choice in each scene in the scenario, it is a good idea to refer to the relevant learning resources. This will ensure you are making choices based on the correct information .

When you have made an incorrect choice.

You should refer to the relevant learning resources when you have made an incorrect choice and ended up in a scene where there is a problem. The "Points to consider" and "Tutorial hints" on the scene indicate the types of learning resources you should regularly consult .
