Certificate IV in Fitness

Student Guide – carrying out activities in Fitness Online Toolbox

Many of the scenes in a scenario contain an activity for you to complete. They all involve you working with one or more clients. These activities are critical to your being able to demonstrate your understanding of the competency. The activities can take several different forms.

1. Listening to an interview

You can ask questions and hear responses from the clients. The interviews also have the responses in the form of subtitles that can be displayed or hidden. This means you can still get the response from the client even if you do not have sound on your computer. To hear the sound of the client you need to click on the audio button. If you click on the audio button again it will turn the audio off.

2. Performing a task

Some of the activities are based on you performing a simulated task such as taking a person's pulse, or determine a person's 1 repetition maximum load. As you do these types of activities, make sure you read the instructions that are presented on the screen with the activity.

3. Recording results

In some scenes, the activity is based on you recording the results you have gathered from the other activities in the scenario. This will give you feedback as to whether you have completed the activities correctly.

Keeping a record of what you do or find out

In most scenes you will need to record the results of the activities you perform. A link is provided on the page for you to download the required record file. Save this file to your computer or a disk so you can keep the file and submit it to your instructor as evidence of having completed the activity.

Submitting your work

Your instructor may require you to submit the records you have saved from each activity. You can use the email link in the Communication Centre to attach your file to a message to your instructor.
