Safety dress and attitude
If you always remember where the hazard zones are around greyhounds, you will minimise the risks of you or someone working with you being injured.
Other safety hazards you must consider include:
- how you dress for work
- how you are feeling
- if what you want the greyhound to do is reasonable.
You need to ask yourself “how would a greyhound feel about what I am about to do?”
This will prevent many avoidable accidents.
The activity will help you understand dress standards for work.
For more information about your attitude at work and dress guidelines, go to the Resource Centre safety section.

Did you know?
You have an obligation to keep yourself and others safe at work. You must also try to prevent injury or disease occurring to greyhounds.
Under the Rules of Racing, Occupational Health & Safety legislation and the Prevention Of Cruelty To Animals Act you can be penalised for either deliberately causing accidents or injury, or for failing to follow safety directions.
