Role of WorkCover / WorkSafe

WorkCover or WorkSafe are the state government bodies that are responsible for administering the following legislation:

  • OH&S Acts
  • Workers Compensation
  • Workplace Injury Management

If an accident occurs at work a WorkCover or WorkSafe inspector may arrive to investigate what happened.

Workers’ Compensation and Workplace Injury Management legislation provides protection for workers who are injured while they are doing their job.

Under OH&S Laws -

everyone is responsible for safe work practices

Did you know?

A WorkCover/WorkSafe inspector arrived to check a worksite and found a worker using a faulty power cord. The employer was fined for not supplying safe equipment and the worker was fined for using faulty equipment.

Everyone is responsible for safe work practices.
