Working with animals is always potentially dangerous. In addition we have to lift and carry heavy loads; use electrical and mechanical equipment; administer and apply chemicals. This makes the workplace even more dangerous.
It is important that you can recognise potential hazards and that you can think of ways to reduce or avoid the risk of injury or illness.
Use the assignment worksheet to gather evidence of potential hazards and hazards that have been well managed.
When you have done this, you will be ready to move onto the next task.
