You don't have to wait for a safety meeting to raise safety issues. There are other options. If you notice a hazard you should report it straight away.
Step 1
Report the hazard to the foreman or boss.
Step 2
Report the hazard to the safety officer or safety committee chairperson.
Step 3
Put a sign on the hazard or restrict access to the area if it is currently dangerous.
Step 4
Note it in the work diary or on the noticeboard to warn others and to remind the boss that repairs are needed.
Step 5
Raise the issue at the safety meeting.
Step 6
Report the hazard to WorkCover or WorkSafe if no action has been taken.
