Options for reporting hazards
You don't have to wait for a safety meeting to raise safety issues. There are other options. If you notice a hazard you should report it straight away.
Report the hazard to the foreman or boss.
Report the hazard to the safety officer or safety committee chairperson.
Put a sign on the hazard or restrict access to the area if it is currently dangerous.
Note it in the work diary or on the noticeboard to warn others and to remind the boss that repairs are needed.
Raise the issue at the safety meeting.
Report the hazard to WorkCover or WorkSafe if no action has been taken.
