Requirements

 

Hardware
To use the learning material in this unit, learners will need a computer with the following features:

• IBM compatible computer with 300 MHz processor
• 64 MB of SDRAM
• 800 x 600 16-bit colour display
• 1 Gb hard disk
• CD-ROM drive (If the delivery method is CD-ROM)
• Sound card
• 28.8 kbps or higher modem. (If the delivery method is Online)

OR

• a Macintosh equivalent.

Software
Learners will also need the following software/plug-ins installed in their computer:

• A standard compliant browser:
  o Internet Explorer 6 or higher
  o Netscape Navigator 6 or higher.
  o Opera 6 or higher.
  o Mozilla 1 or higher.
  o Apple Safari 1 or higher.
• A word processing program capable of opening Word documents:
  o Microsoft® Word® 97 or higher
  o For a free alternative see:
  - Open Office at http://www.openoffice.org/
  - Or use the Microsoft Word Viewer http://www.microsoft.com
