When you open the Toolbox you will see this front page…
When you click on 'Enter Toolbox' the Home Page will appear….
If you click on Captain Pete he will speak to you. If you do not have a sound card in your computer you can choose the text version rather than the audio of Captain Pete.
Taking the Induction as suggested by Captain Pete will provided you with information about the toolbox and the units of competency and suggestions for working through the material.
The top navigation bar is available from all areas within the toolbox so that you can easily access other parts of the toolbox no matter where you are. If you click on the tools or activities icons when you are in a job or task you will have access to all the tools and activities to assist you in completing those tasks.
The top navigation icons and their purposes are as follows…

If you click on this icon you will be returned to the Home Page |

Clicking on this icon will take you to the noticeboard listing the jobs for you to select from. |

This is the task icon and you can use it to access the tasks attached to the jobs for each unit of competency. |

Clicking on the tools icon will provide you with access to additional information to assist you in completing your tasks. From within a job or task only the related tools will be accessible. The tools are accessible at relevant places within the tasks and are designed to provide you with underpinning knowledge for the unit of competency you are working in. You can access them at the point they appear in the task or at a later time from the icon on the top navigation bar. |

This is the activity icon and will provide access to all the activities related to the job and task you are working on. As with the tools you can access the activities at the relevant points within the task or at a time that suits you by using the icon on the top navigation bar. |

Clicking on the glossary icon will provide you with definitions of key maritime terms used within the toolbox. |

The support icon will give you access to the communication and support provided by your training organisation. This could include the discussion board, chat room and email access to your facilitator. |
