Understanding the audience

Aim:
To identify and describe the target audience for a multimedia product.

Objective:
The learner continues to lay the foundation to test their two selected web sites.

In this brief, the learner identifies the audiences for their selected web sites. They are then to compose an audience profile for each. To some degree this will be an imaginary exercise, and the demographic data will not be available to them. The objective of the exercise, however, is to alert them to the kinds of categories in which audiences are described: age, gender, language spoken at home, etc. They should be encouraged to visit the web sites provided in the Sources folder.

Check:
The learner has identified and described the sites' audiences.
