Exploring game-play: setting

Aim:
To explore the importance of setting in game-play and how this impacts on the design of a game.

Objective:
The setting (where, why, how and who with) has an important bearing on the game, and the learner needs to understand this as they start to think about applying game principles to their own game design.

The learner is expected to analyse two pre-electronic games from this point of view, and then design a game involving 20 teenagers in a classroom.

This is a collaborative project, so their Report should be the result of discussions between the buddy partners.

Check:
1. The learner analyses the settings in 2 games and explores the modifications necessary to play them over the Internet. 2. The partners design a game for 20 teenagers.

Feedback:
Respond to learner inquiries
