Exploring game-play: rules and modifications

Aim:
To explore the role of rules in game, and how these are often modified.

Objective:
The rules of the game determine the essential game-playing parameters. These rules are communicated in different ways and game designers need to study this. The rules of a game can be modified over time (sometimes over centuries or decades for traditional games),

The learner is expected to study a number of pre-electronic games, identifying their rules, their method of communicating those rules and any rule modification observed over time or allowable within the system.

Check:
The learner has analysed the rules of a number of pre-electronic and electronic games.

Feedback:
Respond to learner inquiries.
