Selecting and clarifying a brief

Aim:
To select a design brief and clarify it.

Objective:
This resource provides three design briefs for the learners to develop. The first brief asks to apply game principles to an information service; the second to a small game and the third to a training product. The design briefs are deliberately sketchy, so it is necessary for the learner to re-interpret what the design brief expects.

In the Report, the learner is given some guidelines to assist them to clarify the brief. They will be expected to fully develop this design brief across the training program so it is important for them to make a choice of brief that they are comfortable completing.

Check:
The learner has selected from the design briefs and clarified this in their own words.

Feedback:
Assist the learner to select and clarify the design brief. remind them that they will be required to design for this brief across the training program.
