Finding a Mentor

Aim:
To find and maintain a mentor across the training program.

Objective:
The mentor relationship is integral to this training program. There are projects that require mentor feedback. It is expect that the mentor is from a relevant industry and is appropriate to this competency standard.

It is expected that you as the trainer provide Mentor contacts or links to organisations that may be willing to involve themselves in a Mentor program. You can provide the Mentor organisation list by adding links to the Learner Brief 1.3. Select the title above and go to EDIT. A learner may have their own contacts outside the provided list. Complete all the BRIEFs of this SET before moving on to the next SET.

Check:
1. The learner is to provide mentor details. 2. You need to establish that the mentor is from a relevant organisation and is appropriate.

Feedback:
1. Provide links to Mentor organisations. 2You may need to assist the learner in finding an appropriate mentor. 3. Contact mentor and thank them for joining the training program (this also checks the authenticity of the mentor). 4. Confirm with leaner that their choice of mentor is appropriate. 5. Ensure the learner adds their mentor address into their NETWORK folder.

Assessment:
None (except that the mentor is mandatory to this training program).
