A design 'brief' is a statement that sets out what the producer or organisation wants you to design in very general terms; it represents the general aims of the product.

The brief will not always answer all the questions necessary to construct a design. The brief may be ambiguous, lack sufficient information or reflect indecision about the nature of the project. Therefore when you accept the brief, you will need to clarify the brief for yourself to ensure you head down the 'right' design path.

In the Sources file you will find three sample multimedia Design Briefs. Each Design Brief requires the development of game design principles to a proposed multimedia product. Read each Design Brief.

Study them carefully. Select one to pursue in the course of your training.

Report your selection to your Trainer and Mentor and discuss the various elements of the Brief.

Provide some initial exploration of how you might approach the design process.

Once you have selected and clarified your design brief, you need to complete the following:
Framing a training plan
Creating a team
Finding a Mentor
Keeping Records
