Conduct recruitment and selection at ValleyView

Consider the position description for the job vacancy in the Editing and Publishing Department in the ValleyView Intranet.

This position has become vacant as a result of staff allocations to the multimedia branch office.

Develop a set of questions (15–20) you would ask the interviewees for the vacant position at ValleyView Publishing. Arrange these questions in order according to the guidelines suggested for conducting the interview.

Ask three friends or colleagues to act as 'applicants' for the ValleyView position.

Each 'applicant' is to submit their résumé and a letter of application. Arrange suitable interview times.

Develop interview questions and prepare an Applicant Rating Sheet for use in the interview.

Interview each 'applicant'. During and after the interview complete an Applicant Rating Sheet, ranking each applicant according to their answers.

At the end of each interview ask each 'applicant' to complete an Interviewee Evaluation Sheet, and complete an Interview Self-evaluation Sheet on your own performance. Examples of these sheets are available in ValleyView Intranet.

Video or tape-record each interview if possible.

Discuss with your teacher the format in which the above documentation and video/audio tape should be submitted.
