One of OLS's clients requires customised OHS training. For this project, Jasper has asked you to select a Training Package and units of competency to meet client needs.

This project requires you to complete three tasks:

select an appropriate Training Package for the client
write a report on how you will use the Qualifications Framework to meet the client's needs
write a report on how you will use units of competency to meet client needs.

When you have completed the documents and reports, place them in your evidence portfolio.

The project planner gives you two ways to find all the information you need to complete this project. Both options contain the same learning material, just choose the approach that suits the way you like to work!

Project Introduction

Jasper Wellard, OLS Trainer. Tyrone Dunlop, workshop supervisor at the Rev Shop spoke to me last week about some issues that were identified during an audit from the SafeWork reps. It appears that some staff aren't following OH&S guidelines, and they also need some refresher training done!

Before you start working on your project, you may like to visit the Rev Shop and read my conversation with Tyrone.

This project requires you to complete three tasks:

Using your understanding of the client's needs, visit the NTIS website and select an appropriate Training Package for the Rev Shop. You'll also need to review the Assessment Guidelines, Qualification Packaging Rules and Implementation Guide (where available) for the Training Package that you select.
- Print out a copy of the Training Package, and the competency or competencies that you select. Include this in your evidence portfolio for this unit.
Write a report on how you will use the Qualifications Framework to meet client needs.
Write a report:
- explaining the reasons why you chose these units of competency and why you feel they are more suitable than others
- detailing English language, literacy and numeracy requirements for all parts of the competency standards
- identifying the dimensions of competency.

Place these reports and documents in your evidence portfolio when they are complete.
