Melanie Brenton and Stephan Schmidt are working to assist Northern Territorians to implement Toolboxes.
Melanie can offer assistance in using Toolboxes in a variety of different organisations – schools, industry, training providers large and small. Melanie’s IT experience is drawn from experience developing computer managed training support resources. She can also provide advice on using Toolboxes as support resources for the delivery of Training Package qualifications.
Stephan Schmidt has a passion for helping teachers/facilitators in their e-learning journey and is currently the Content Services Advisor (CSA) in the NT. He has been involved in the National VET e-learning Strategy (previously known as the Australian Flexible Framework) for many years, in projects and as a project mentor. Stephan was a Toolbox champion in the ACT and also shared the role in SA.
Stephan initially developed an interest in online teaching and learning nine years ago when he was teaching Commercial Cookery and applied what he learned in his own courses. This interest swiftly led to him being invited to share his knowledge and help others to embed e-learning in their teaching practices.
Although sharing his experiences with others and supporting their e-learning journey has become the largest part of his work, Stephan still enjoys online facilitation and takes any opportunity to facilitate online courses. He feels that keeping up with technology and understanding how it can add value to teaching and learning is a vital part of the teaching profession.
