Content Services Advisory Network
The Content Services Advisory Network provides support to training providers in the selection and use of e-learning resources from the National Repository;
- discovery and downloading of learning objects;
- customisation of existing content for their particular training needs;
- assistance with user-generated content;
- packaging and uploading of new e-learning content; and
- the use of content development tools.
The Content Services Advisors assist private RTOs, industry bodies, businesses, TAFE, ACE and VET in Schools in the successful implementation of Toolboxes. A Content Services Advisor operates in every state and territory to support the implementation of Toolboxes. They are available to:
- organise and conduct professional development activities,
- mentor teams wishing to implement Toolboxes,
- provide advice about using Toolboxes.

Jyothi has over ten years of experience in the online environment organising professional development opportunities for the vocational education and training (VET) sector in exploring creative and innovative ways to use the latest technologies to embed e-learning in their teaching and training practice.
Jyothi is the ACT’s E-learning Coordinator and Content Services Advisor for the National VET E-learning Strategy. She also manages the Industry System Change business activity’s website http://industry.flexiblelearning.net.au. In the past she has been involved in coordinating and managing several Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework) Projects including Flexible Learning Leaders, Legal Issues in Flexible Learning, E-learning Networks, Communities of Practice and e-Events. As the ICT Project Manager, Jyothi has also managed CIT's MyCIT Portal and AskUs projects. She is passionate about exploring ways to use latest technology including Web 2.0, social media and mobile/hand held devices to assist in the delivery of effective teaching and learning practices. She has extensive experience in online facilitation and also has experience in developing multimedia content for websites.

Rory has over seventeen years experience working in both the VET and University sectors specialising in building teacher capability in e-learning and using technology in education. He has extensive Toolbox experience, having contributed to past resources and worked closely with teachers to implement Toolbox resources online. As an instructional designer, he has designed and created e-learning resources for many industry sectors. Rory has extensive experience with learning management systems and repositories and is also recognised as a leader in the area of online facilitation.

Melanie Brenton and Stephan Schmidt are working to assist Northern Territorians to implement Toolboxes.
Melanie can offer assistance in using Toolboxes in a variety of different organisations – schools, industry, training providers large and small. Melanie’s IT experience is drawn from experience developing computer managed training support resources. She can also provide advice on using Toolboxes as support resources for the delivery of Training Package qualifications.
Stephan Schmidt has a passion for helping teachers/facilitators in their e-learning journey and is currently the Content Services Advisor (CSA) in the NT. He has been involved in the National VET e-learning Strategy (previously known as the Australian Flexible Framework) for many years, in projects and as a project mentor. Stephan was a Toolbox champion in the ACT and also shared the role in SA.
Stephan initially developed an interest in online teaching and learning nine years ago when he was teaching Commercial Cookery and applied what he learned in his own courses. This interest swiftly led to him being invited to share his knowledge and help others to embed e-learning in their teaching practices.
Although sharing his experiences with others and supporting their e-learning journey has become the largest part of his work, Stephan still enjoys online facilitation and takes any opportunity to facilitate online courses. He feels that keeping up with technology and understanding how it can add value to teaching and learning is a vital part of the teaching profession.

In recent years, Shane has been an eLearning practitioner engaged in projects with NSW State Training Services, North Coast TAFE IT Section at Coffs Harbour, Queensland DETE and the National VET ELearning Strategy (previously known as the Australian Flexible Learning Framework).
In 2005 Shane was appointed as the NSW Toolbox Champion supporting and facilitating the uptake of eLearning across the state. In June 2011 he also took on the role of NSW Innovations Coordinator managing the simultaneous completion of 16 NSW eLearning projects.
Shane Dowd’s initial employment was with subsidiaries of large multi-nationals such as BHP, Conzinc Rio-Tinto and Metal Manufacturers. During those 20 years, his roles included Photogrammetrist (i.e. aerial surveying / computing), Systems Analyst / Programmer and PC Support Officer.
Subsequently, in 1991, Shane joined TAFE NSW, North Coast Institute. As an IT Teacher, Teacher-in-Charge, Online Project Officer and e-Commerce Project Content Developer he became aware of many e-Learning implementation issues.
As part of the process of maintaining the currency of his qualifications, Shane completed distance and e-Learning study over a ten year period. During this time a Certificate IV, Diploma and SCU Degree in Applied Computing have been completed. These professional development activities have further enhanced his understanding of e-learning complexities – especially from the student’s point of view.
Shane also has a UTS Diploma in Adult Education and a Certificate IV in TAA.

The SA Content Services Advisor is Marlene Manto.
Marlene has been involved in e-learning both in SA and nationally for 15 years, and has long experience in the development of content for training and education. Marlene can assist with Toolboxes, location of e-learning content and transferring traditional training into an e-learning environment. She has worked with organisations to develop a strategic approach to e-learning and can provide support for integrating resources and content into an online Learning Management System.

Sarah has been working in the VET sector for seven and a half years and within e-learning for six years. In this time Sarah has worked in a range of areas within VET including Adult Community Education, TAFE, Industry and Private and works in all the areas of technical development, educational design and organisational strategy development. Sarah has worked with many industry associations and has a broad sense of e-learning application responsive to the sector.
Specifically, Sarah’s support includes the use of the toolbox website, where Sarah can help users to customise, repackage and load learning objects into a designated LMS. Sarah’s role also includes E-learning Coordinator ensuring Victorian providers are aware of the range of nationally funded Toolbox e-learning materials and general support for e-learning capability development.
